What do you call an awesome group of writers? We call them Tall Poppies. Read on….

Hello and Happy New Year. We’re looking forward to 2021 and bringing you new books and book experiences this year.

We’re introducing a Meet The Author program to Bookship, where great authors join your book club meeting by video. We’re delighted to announce a partnership with the Tall Poppy Writers Group, who include New York Times Bestsellers, USA Today Bestsellers, and National Book Award Finalists in many genres. They will be joining our Meet the Author program, and we’ll introduce some of them below. In addition, if you join Bloom, the Tall Poppy Facebook Group, you get free Bookship Premium through the end of March (after you join, go to their Announcements page and click the Bookship link).

We’re excited to press forward on video features in Bookship this year. We’re working on live, instant video chat right inside Bookship, so you can chat (anonymously!) with your Bookship reading group! Try it out on the Bookship website (www.bookshipapp.com). An app version is coming soon. It even works with public groups so you can meet those strangers you’ve been chatting with! Here’s how: go to the reading you want to chat in, and hit the video button (). It will start a video conference window. Your fellow readers will get an alert, and if they go to the reading on the web and hit the video button, they’ll join the video. No making invites, no starting up Zoom, or any other fuss.

Here are some the great Tall Poppy authors who are joining our program. They’d love to met your book club by video! To see the complete list, open the app and go to Browse / Meet the Author.

(Are you an author? Let me know if you want to be included.)
